Research Projects: Overview

Each of the three Oceans and Human Health Center at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School Reasearch Projects involves collaboration between a biomedical sciences researcher and an oceanographic sciences investigator as the Principal and Co-Principal Investigators. This administrative and research organization is a concrete demonstration of one of the goals of the NIEHS-NSF Oceans and Human Health Program: to increase the interactions between the biomedical and oceanographic sciences to improve interdisciplinary research into ocean and human health issues. Furthermore, each of the Oceans and Human Health Center at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School Research Projects uses at least two Facilities Cores, which represent the application of additional resources and expertise in the oceanographic and biomedical sciences.
